Senior Buyer - Akron OH

AESCO Electronics, Inc.,  has an immediate opening for a Senior Buyer to be responsible for effective purchasing of electronic components, fabrications, equipment, and services for all facets of our facility,  ensuring proper quality, price and on-time delivery targets are achieved.
  
Responsibilities include the following.  Others may be assigned. 
 
1.       Prepare specifications, select vendors and request written bids/telephone quotes on purchases.
2.       Enter bid information into the computer including vendor price, payment terms and delivery information.
3.       Perform basic parts search through the Internet and regular sources.
4.       Issue purchase orders based on planning reports or purchase requisitions.
5.       Coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure accurate flow of materials to meet production schedules.
6.       Work with manufacturing to identify inventory build ups and coordinate corrective action as needed.
7.       Evaluate suppliers through various performance metrics, and make adjustments as needed.
8.       Assist in the reduction of costs through cost reduction programs and assists in maximizing inventory turns.
9.       Maintain purchasing records as necessary.
10. Follow procedures and methods in procurement that comply with ISO-9000.
       
Minimum Requirements
Degree preferred with an emphasis in purchasing/materials.  2-5 years purchasing experience with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, mathematical and organizational skills.
  
PC proficiency to include procurement systems and Windows, Excel, and Word.  Must have strong experience with MRP/ERP systems.  Working knowledge of kanban replenishment systems a plus. Demonstrated interpersonal and negotiating skills required.  Strong verbal and written communication skills required.  Ability to operate effectively in a team based environment.  Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Senior Planner/Scheduler

Job Title:      Planner/Scheduler

Summary
Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts and assemblies between sections or departments by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties Responsibilities
include the following.  Others may be assigned.
  1. Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  2. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs determines manufacturing process, tool, and manpower requirements.
  3. Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material.
  4. Reviews MRP and determines appropriate responses.
  5. Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability.
  6. Compiles and maintains records, such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  7. Confers with department supervisors and managers to determine status of assigned projects.
  8. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Education and Experience
Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 3+ years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment. APICS certification is a plus.  A good understanding of MRP/ERP systems and how to use them in a contract manufacturing environment Is highly desirable
